Case Study – Residential Install with Critter Guard
8,050 kWh per year
A 6.16 kW residential rooftop system on a brick home surrounded by mature trees. The homeowner owns an EV and wanted solar to offset his electricity, including charging the car. The roof has two usable planes, so we split the array across them and enclosed the perimeter with critter guard. Located in Wynnewood, in Lower Merion Township on Philadelphia’s Main Line (Montgomery County), this home is PECO territory.

Why critter guard
Trees next to the roof mean squirrels have easy access. Left open, the space under an array becomes a nesting spot, and the wiring under it gets chewed. Critter guard is a black mesh barrier that closes off the perimeter of the array. It’s a deterrent, not a guarantee, but it costs little compared to a wiring repair or a nest cleanout, and it is barely visible from the ground. We recommend it on any install near trees.
What we handled
Trifecta Solar handled the project start to finish: system design, roof structure engineering, permitting, equipment procurement, installation, all electrical work, inspections and closeout, PECO interconnection, monitoring setup, and SREC account setup.
